Landrum Elementary receives grant

Landrum Elementary received a $7,000 grant from The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries. More than $831,000 in grants will be distributed to 130 school libraries across the country for the purchase of books and reading materials.

Grant to make new science books a possibilty for San Benito elementary

Attention to detail.  Teachers and administrators hope to build that power in the young minds of Landrum Elementary students.

A $7,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries will now make it possible to purchase science books with updated information. Such books contain the kind of detailed information which requires a higher level of concentration.

Elementary approved for Laura Bush Foundation grant

Although graphic novels are becoming an important tool for encouraging reluctant readers, only 15 graphic novels are on the shelves at Travis. However, this summer a huge influx of new books, including graphic novels, will arrive at the school. Linda Peña, library media specialist, learned earlier this week the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries had approved Travis Elementary for a library grant of $6,800.
